Thanks for a great post! You&#039;re right! Trying to summarize the rich and powerful tradition of ethnographic research in my book was impossible. Instead, I&#039;m trying to introduce these techniques to the masses. Yes, the twists I describe to traditional ethnographic research make them games, but there will also be a much-needed place for academics. 

For the record, I met the Anthro Guys at the conference, and they are anything *but* snooty.
